The "Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS) 2026," organized by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA), concluded successfully today. Throughout the four-day exhibition, the atmosphere for business negotiations was vibrant, with continuous opportunities emerging. The event successfully attracted professional buyers from over 80 countries, with a total of nearly 73,000 domestic and international visitors participating. International visitors accounted for approximately 10% of the total attendance, and the show is expected to generate procurement effects exceeding US$2 billion.
This year's exhibition not only showcased the tangible results of the Taiwan machine tool industry in "Digital Transformation (DX)" and "Green Transformation (GX)" but also, through the cross-border integration of the AI ecosystem, strongly demonstrated to the world that Taiwan has successfully transitioned from simple machine sales to providing "complete solutions for industrial applications," officially evolving into an indispensable strategic partner in global smart manufacturing.
Reviewing the highlights of the exhibition, the Taiwan machine tool industry has fully entered a new chapter of "AI Empowerment." The symbiotic fusion of physical production lines and the virtual world was visible everywhere throughout the venue. Through open platforms, precise Digital Twin environments were constructed, allowing global buyers to transcend geographical limitations to monitor equipment in real-time and accurately predict capacity, significantly shortening the decision-making chain for complex manufacturing processes. Furthermore, equipment has comprehensively integrated AI technology to enhance intelligent self-optimization capabilities, pushing machining precision to new heights and demonstrating Taiwan's leadership in hardware-software integration.
Regarding industrial applications, the show displayed achievements in connecting with high-end fields such as semiconductors, energy, and aerospace manufacturing. Top domestic manufacturers have broken away from the "going it alone" model, utilizing strategic alliances and technology sharing to present integrated solutions woven from a "Value Chain Ecosystem," achieving a comprehensive layout from standalone machines to multi-axis multitasking machining. Simultaneously, in response to global carbon reduction trends, the "Green Manufacturing" solutions unveiled at the venue became a focus for international buyers, helping enterprises pursue ultimate efficiency while implementing sustainable operations.
To optimize the visiting experience and facilitate business matchmaking, the "TMTS Digital Treasure Hunt" was specially organized. Through themed mission routes, professional buyers and visitors were guided to visit iconic manufacturers to experience the latest R&D achievements in AI empowerment and sustainable production up close. The response to the activity was extremely enthusiastic, with 4 air tickets and over 200 generous prizes awarded on-site, allowing visitors to return home with a wealth of gains and surprises while gaining new industry knowledge and grasping technological trends.
Moreover, this edition of TMTS demonstrated powerful "City Marketing" integration capabilities. Through deep collaboration with the Taichung City Government, transportation transfers, tourism accommodation, and city tours were fully optimized, extending the exhibition experience from the halls to the entire city. During the exhibition, TMTS combined local delicacies and specialty souvenirs, estimated to create NT$26 million in city tourism opportunities. This allowed domestic and international buyers to personally experience the charm and hospitality of Taichung alongside professional business negotiations, successfully transforming an industrial event into an exchange feast of both culture and technology.
The success of TMTS 2026 symbolizes a milestone transformation for Taiwan's machine tool industry, which is no longer limited to the export of hardware equipment but has become a high-value-added system ecosystem service provider. Even on the final day of the exhibition, the atmosphere for on-site negotiations remained active, revealing the strong global market demand for Taiwan's intelligent and green ecological layout. TMBA emphasized that it will continue to promote cross-domain ecosystem cooperation in the future, deepening the integration of AI technology, data sharing, and machinery equipment to ensure that Taiwan's machine tools maintain an irreplaceable strategic position in the international supply chain.
