2024-03-27

The Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS), organized by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builder's Association (TMBA), opens today (March 27th) at the Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) in Taipei.
Established 16 years ago, TMBA has been held every two years since 2010. Now in its eighth term, TMTS has been relocated from Taichung to Taipei and continues to build a communication platform that brings together manufacturers and international buyers, leading exhibitors to create more business opportunities and partnerships.
With over 600 exhibitors and 3,350 booths, more than 3,000 foreign buyers from 47 countries have pre-registered for this year's TMTS, which is expected to attract more than 55,000 visitors.
Based on the theme of “Dual Axis Intelligent Manufacturing and Sustainable Future”, TMTS 2024 is the first exhibition space to use the concept of an eco-system to create a fusion exhibition space under the dual axes of digital transformation and green transformation. It also aims to convey the possibilities of diversified industrial applications through different exhibition themes.
The five major elements of digital transformation are included: Smart Manufacturing, Data Analytics and Cloud Computing, AIoT, Digital Twin/Human-Machine Collaboration, and Blockchain Technology. The five major elements of green transformation are also included: Smart Energy Conservation, Environmental Certification, Resource Recycling and Reuse, Green Supply Chain, and Sustainable Product Design. The main products in this exhibition demonstrate the determination of Taiwan's machine tool industry to continue pursuing technological innovation, transformation and upgrades.
This year's exhibition will be held on an unprecedented scale, with not only the gathering of well-known domestic manufacturers, but also the enthusiastic participation of 17 guilds and public associations. Meanwhile, top companies from Germany, Switzerland and other countries have been invited to participate in the exhibition, bringing visitors the latest industry trends and technological developments in the international arena. From hardware to software, the exhibition offers integrated services and complete solutions across industries, providing comprehensive purchasing options for professionals.
Index exhibitors who will be attending TMTS 2024 include: GOODWAY, HIWIN, YEONG CHIN, TAIWAN TAKISAWA, VICTOR TAICHUNG, TONGTAI, QUASER, TUNG PEI, FAIR FRIEND GROUP, BUFFALO, SIEMENS, HEIDENHAIN, FANUC and IGUS.
In cooperation with the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW), TMBA has set up the "umati Zone" for the first time at the TMTS exhibition, inviting 25 domestic manufacturers, corporations and schools to participate. During the exhibition, more than 50 machines will be displayed in a row at the same time, exemplifying the best of the creative experience and presenting a cross-field intelligent ecosystem.
To encourage machine tool manufacturers to actively respond to the challenges of the green economy trend, TMBA has launched TMTS 2024 to encourage research and development into energy-saving equipment or components to demonstrate the strength of green transformation through the "Energy Saving Label for the Machine Tool Industry" evaluation. A total of 49 products from 28 companies were evaluated, with the judges looking at 18 gold products (including 3 components) and 29 silver. These outstanding transformation achievements will all be exhibited at TMTS 2024.
A series of forums are planned during the TMTS exhibition with domestic and international industry experts present such as the CEO of Mobility in Harmony (MIH EV) - Jack Cheng, the Vice Chairman of  Yeong Guan Energy - Andy Tsai, Director of Research and Technology & umati Project Lead VDW - Dr. Alexander Broos, the CEO of Nice Garden - Kevin Wu, the Consultant of Development Dimensions InternationalInc. (DDI) and Jenny Yao, the Founder of Skycrown Co., Ltd - Yi-De, Zhu etc. They will share their insights on digital transformation, green transformation, talent sustainability and industry-academia collaboration.
The success of the TMTS exhibition not only demonstrates the strengths of Taiwan's machine tool industry in technological innovation and product development, but also highlights the success of the cross-domain integrated ecosystem development of Taiwan's machine tool industry. Looking ahead, we expect Taiwan's machine tool industry to reach even greater heights on the road to sustainable development and contribute more to the development of the global machine tool industry.
